Hyundai Grand i10 Road Test Review - MotorBeam

http://www.motorbeam.com/ tests the new Hyundai Grand i10, a segment changing car which features loads of equipment, acres of interior space and neutral dynamics. The Hyundai Grand i10 is offered with a petrol and diesel engine both of which are frugal offering good city performance and impressive mileage. The Hyundai Grand i10 is priced from Rs. 4.30 lakhs and is offered in a slew of variants.

The Grand i10 sits between the i10 and i20 in Hyundai's Indian portfolio. The vehicle rivals the Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Ritz and Honda Brio. The Indian model features a re-designed C-pillar which helps Hyundai liberate more rear seat room in the Grand i10. The boot space is 256-litres big which is the second best in the segment (second to the Figo) and 50-litres bigger than the Swift.

The petrol engine in the Grand i10 is from the i10 and i20, the 1.2-litre engine produces 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is the same unit which does duty on the i20, sans a cylinder. The U2 mill in the Grand i10 outputs 71 PS of power and 158 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The petrol Grand i10 returns a mileage of 18.9 km/l while the diesel Grand i10 returns a mileage of 24 km/l (both ARAI certified).
