Highlighting this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series championship-deciding race - the GoPro
Grand Prix of Sonoma - there will be a motorcade of IndyCars and Holmatro Safety vehicles
delivering the Astor Cup Championship trophy to Sonoma Raceway, via the Golden Gate
Bridge.
The event will also pay tribute to IndyCar driver Justin Wilson, who succumbed to injuries
sustained at last week’s ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. As part of the tribute, Wilson’s
Andretti Autosport teammate, Marco Andretti, will lead the way driving the late racer’s #25 car.
In addition, two Holmatro Safety Vehicles, the same that were on site to aid in Justin’s incident
at Pocono, will fly Justin Wilson flags from the back of their trucks.
