Shocking footage has emerged from China of students sitting on train tracks waiting for the last second before jumping away.

The CCTV video, filmed in Linxiang, Hunan Province on Saturday, shows a boy squatting on the railway waiting for the train to come.

He then jumps out of the way when the train is about to hit him.

The train reportedly moved forward 100 metres after the emergency brake was pulled.

There were reportedly five middle school students playing this "game" in total.

Local news reports say, the students were inebriated and competed with each other to be the nearest one to the train before running away from the rails.

According to reports, they were all arrested.
