Merrie Melodies #181 All This and Rabbit Stew (1941)\r
One of the Censored Eleven, 11 Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes cartoons banned due to their racism, All This and Rabbit Stews title parodies that of All This, and Heaven Too, a 40s Warner Bros. Movie, but really its a crack at black Americans and Stepin Fetchit.who was also a crack at black Americans.\r
\r
The character, who is called Texs Coon by the way, is a stereotyped black American guy who wants to shoot Bugs Bunny for reasons of.well I assume to eat him from the films title. Using classic Bugs Bunny misdirection tactics, and exploiting Texs Coons inability to resist shooting craps, he gets away and even wins all of Texs Coons clothes.\r
\r
Not actually very funny; might be funnier if Bugs was outsmarting Elmer Fudd instead (actually they reuse some of the jokes in this in later Warner Bros. cartoons with Elmer) instead of this very dated black-Americans-are-apparently-goofy character. Still, its classic Merrie Melodies and Mel Blanc gives a great performance as usual.
