The Rebels were eighth best in the nation in scoring offense by averaging 40.8 points per game. Passing defense was a sore spot for the program as the Rebels surrendered 258 yards through the air a season ago ranking 105th in all of college football.

Following their 2014 national championship the Florida St Seminoles finished off play a year ago with a record of 10-3. The earned a trip to the Peach Bowl where they were beaten 38-24 to the Houston Cougars. Jimbo Fisher returns for his seventh year as the head coach and will have 11 starters back on offense and six to the defense. The team is expected to start freshman DeOndre Francois at quarterback. Fortunately, the inexperienced stops there because Francois will have all the 2015 playmakers back. Dalvin Cook a junior back rushed for 1691 yards with 19 touchdowns and 7.4 yards per carry average. Florida St was solid defensively ranking 9th in points allowed by surrendering just 17.5 points per game. They were the 51st ranked offense as the team netted 424 yards per game.
