Zikr –e– Ghalib Musical play based on Ghalib’s letters & Ghazals

‘Zikr-e-Ghalib, a musical play that combines kathak, shayiri and ghazals, the life and times of the greatest Urdu poets, Mirza Ghalib based on Ghalib’s letters & Ghazals. Zikr-e-Ghalib was organized by Vertex Organizers in association with Consulate General of India, Dubai at Indian Consulate Auditorium under the series "Indradhanush 2016".
His Excellency Suhail Mohd. Al Zarooni, Guinness World Record Holder & Chairman Al Zarooni Foundation was Guest of Honor at this occasion. Suhail Al Zarooni was welcomed by Mr Pushkin Agha of Vertex Organizers and well greeted by His Excellency Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India at Indian Consulate Dubai. Al Zarooni said that the “Zikr – e – Ghalib” play brings alive the glorious days of Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib and He also liked the presentation style of the play which was through a musical play, based on his letters and ghazals along with kathak dance performances. He said that “The play is nostalgic as Ghalib reads the letters in his twilight years.” Suhail Al Zarooni added that Urdu literature isn’t complete without Ghalib.
Zikr – e – Ghalib, presented by Kathputliyaan Theatre Group, directed by Zafer Mohiuddin who also acted as Ghalib and choreographed by Nandini Mehta, is based on Ghalib’s letters written to his friends and family, and his ghazals.
Suhail Al Zarooni said that it was a great to watch an epic play which had flawless performances by Zafer Mohiuddin & His Team. The superb kathak dances by Smitha Srinivasan & ghazals made it a mesmerizing evening.
At this occasion His Excellency Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India at Dubai presented a memento to Suhail M Al Zarooni as Guest of Honor. Suhail Al Zarooni thanked The Consul General of India for the warm hospitality and respect.
Suhail Al Zarooni presented the mementos to Zafer Mohiuddin, director & actor of the Play and to other artists. He also thanked Mr Pushkin Agha for the invitation and congratulated him for organizing such a wonderful show.
