On Monday morning, a lieutenant with the Miami-Dade Police Department was getting in his unmarked car when he heard the cries of a cat coming from the vehicle’s front end, reports WSVN.
According to Miami Herald, he immediately had the Dodge Avenger inspected by the department’s fleet management division, and, sure enough, a kitten was found stuck in the grille.
It took about an hour for mechanics to free the little one, and when the black bundle of fluff emerged, she was understandably freaked out.
Personnel took a moment to feed the kitten and named her Pikachu, then delivered her to Miami-Dade Animal Services.
Pikachu is available for adoption, and, as luck would have it, adoption fees for her and all the other kittens have been waived through the end of the summer.
