Ireland's Youngest Policeman Takes Names at Checkpoint

Motorists in the Irish county of Clare were on their best behaviour on Tuesday, August 9, as Ireland’s youngest Garda (policeman), Garda Ceejay McArdle, operated a checkpoint outside the town of Shannon. Garda McArdle, 4, from Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan, who is undergoing intense treatment for leukemia, earlier this year became An Garda Siochana’s (Irish Police Force) youngest-ever member.Ceejay, along with other members of the Gardai, stopped motorists, asking them to produce their licenses and instructing them to drive safely.
