Finsterau, Germany, will stage an IPC Nordic Skiing World Cup from 21-28 February 2016.

Olympic ski jump champion and double World Champion Severin Freund now sent a video message to wish the athletes good luck for the competitions. He also thanks the volunteers working hard to make this event happen.

Finsterau sits 1000m above sea level in the municipality of Mauth in Freyung-Grafenau in the Bavarian Forest on the border with the Czech Republic.

The SV Finsterau has a race course homologated by FIS, as well as a roller ski and inline skating track, which makes it possible to carry out competitions even at low amounts of snow. The altitude of the route is 1005-1050m above sea level. Sections of the course with different levels of difficulty are available. Since 2015, the SV Finsterau has a stationary biathlon facility.

Course overviews are available at the World Cup website: http://www.paralympic.org/nordic-skiing/world-cup-2015-2016

Athletes will compete across all distances of biathlon and in cross-country long, relay and sprint races.
