In Episode 1 of “Smoke Trail Tour” we explored Memphis, watching great blues and enjoying some fine meals, but now it’s time to hit the road and ride into the heart of Blues Country.
We pointed our pair of Indians—an Indian Springfield and an Indian Chief Vintage—south and into the heart of the Mississippi Delta. We looked for historic music venues, the grave of great bluesman Robert Johnson, and, literally, rode on down to The Crossroads in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where legend says Johnson sold his soul to the devil at midnight for guitar-playing talent.
We then found our own Crossroads...will the devil even show up after hearing us play live guitar and try to sing at the Hollywood Cafe in Robinsonville?! Finally, we end our time in the Delta with an amazing meal in the town of Vicksburg before shooting south to New Orleans, where we have an unlikely musical encounter on the streets of the French Quarter.
