CAMBRIDGE, MARYLAND — Police are investigating a brawl that occurred on a crowded boat in the Choptank River in Maryland.

Facebook user Daryl Newhouse caught the incident on video and posted it to the social media site. Newhouse was riding on the Cambridge Fun Regatta safety boat when another boat sailed dangerously close.

“We started to follow them because they were operating so unsafely and appeared very drunk,” she wrote.

Newhouse caught the brawl on camera. Two men could be seen punching one another, often running into the boat controls. Newhouse wrote that the fight caused over $3,000 in damages to the rental boat.

Now, investigators want to speak with the 21-year-old operator. He faces a possible charge of negligent boating, which carries a fine of up to $500 for a first-time offense.
