Melbourne band The Stiffys said they released the first Pokemon Go-related song on commercial radio in Australia on July 13. “The Pokemon GO song” from their upcoming EP is a catchy rock/pop tune, and the video features the band’s bass player Jason Leigh wandering around a Victorian suburb catching Pokemon through the app. Leigh told Storyful the entire clip was shot within an hour from their studio in Northcote.“The song is about the perils of Pokemon Go in a modern relationship,” Leigh said. “The perils include getting hit by a car and disconnecting from each other.”
“There’s also a competitive element, the girl in the song becomes so obsessed with the game.” Credit: YouTube/The Stiffys
