Mother gives daughter's doll a makeover to tackle beauty standards

A heartwarming video has emerged of a mother making her daughter's doll look more like her in order to confront the "Western World's ideals of beauty".
The footage, shot last year in Utah, USA, shows Emma, 8, looking at herself after her mother put makeup on her so she would look like a doll she recently bought.
When she sees herself, Emma is devastated and keeps repeating that she "doesn't look like [herself]".
As a result, her mother, artist Amy Pearce Stone, decided to repaint the doll so it will look more like her daughter.
When she discovers the makeover Emma is much happier and finds the doll "so cute".
"I was NOT expecting the reaction I got from her when I gave her a makeover to look like one of her dolls" Amy Pearce Stone wrote online.
"The video ended up taking a completely different direction than I expected" she added.
