Russell Dominic Peters, a Canadian comedian and actor, was present here in Delhi to deliver a performance. He uses humour to highlight racial, ethnic, class and cultural stereotypes. There is not much difference between his reel and real life. Indian-origin Canadian crack jokes on his life without hesitation and is definitely not the type who minds being asked awkward questions.

Peter's stand-up performances are mostly made up of observational comedy.

He started his career performing in Toronto in 1989 and won a Gemini Award in 2008.

Asked about the rumors of him having dated adult-film star turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, the 43-year-old says, "Yes, we did date each other. It was five and-a-half-years ago. It was a wonderful time. She's a real sweetheart, you know."

He performed in NCR on Friday to a gathering of 4,500, and ended with a joke on his father's English accent. But Peters, who got much flak for calling Aishwarya Rai Bachchan a 'bad actor' during his 2011 performance in Delhi, says the criticism doesn't bother him much.

"I honestly don't care. I think it (the reaction) was a bit exaggerated too. It was just like a pat on the shoulder and the reaction was like, 'oh my God! You just hit me!' But seriously, it doesn't bother me," he says.

Peters says, "Indians are still new (to stand-up comedy) but they are getting to the art of it. I have seen only Papa CJ's act and I think he did a great job. We sure have a sense of humour — so many people gathered for my show today. That shows a lot," he added.
