Cancer Moonshot is Joe Biden's Plan To Speed Up Cancer Reseach

The White hosted a national cancer pep rally on Wednesday, which organized more than 270 events to support the effort to speed up cancer research. "I believe we can do in the next five years what would ordinarily take 10," said Vice President Joe Biden. Biden headlined one of the events at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Last year when his son Beau died of brain cancer, Biden took himself out of consideration for the presidential nomination. The American Cancer Society says that cancer will kill at least 600,000 people this year. It has replaced heart disease at the number one cause of death in 21 states.
