An Expedition through PNG Jungles to Reach TB Patients

An Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) team undertook an outreach expedition in late August, traversing the seas off the coast of Papua New Guinea’s Gulf Province and hiking for three days through mountainous terrain. The goal was to
test out a largely overland route that would let medical workers reach more patients in rural areas and provide treatment to those suffering from tuberculosis.
