MOTHERWELL, SCOTLAND — Eight children and two adults were injured on Sunday after a roller coaster accident in Motherwell, Scotland, reported the Daily Record.

Police say the inverted ride derailed while turning on a bend and the carriages came loose at around 6 meters in the air.

The Tsunami at M&D’s theme park in Scotland travels up to 65 kilometers per hour. People must be at least 1.4 meters tall and weigh less than 90 kg to get on the ride, according to the theme park’s website.

In 2011, guests had to be rescued after the same ride broke down because of a mechanical failure, Sky News reported. Another ride at the park also became stuck at six meters off the ground earlier this year. Eight people had to be rescued.

The theme park was closed Sunday and says it will remains so until further notice.
