What motivates ISIS?

ADNAN OKTAR: "Do you still think ISIS members are Muslims?" Yes I do, all of them are Muslims. They practice Islam with daintiness, but they are traditional Sunni Muslims. For that reason, they practice the massacre culture falsely instilled into Sunni and Shiite Islam. Instead of blaming them, you should remove those commandments from al-Bukhari, Muslim, Al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Al-Sunan al-Sughra. Remove those commandments about killing and hanging people, remove false, fake hadiths. We condemn the violence of ISIS vigorously. We condemn all kinds of violence vigorously. But the explanations in some sources, false hadiths, fake hadiths, they are the real problem, real disaster. Aren't there the same commandments in books published by our directorate of religious affairs? Aren't there the same commandments in al-Bukhari, Al-Tirmidhi? Isn't there the command for killing women by throwing stones? Yes there is. Isn't there a command "to kill those who don't pray"? Yes there is. First remove those commandments. They [ISIS members] practice those commandments by reading them from those sources. It stems from being ignorant. If they are educated, they will be remedied. Thus they say it themselves too. They say, "When Hazrat Mahdi (as) comes, we will obey him." When Hazrat Mahdi (as) comes, he will be "Mahdi al-dam" (he who stops the bloodshed). When he comes, there will be no more blood, terror or anarchy.

ADNAN OKTAR: Indeed. Al Qaeda is Muslim, Taliban is Muslim, too. The sources of their violence are the books which defend traditionalist Orthodox Islamic conception, those hadith books, books about religious law. Surely not all of them, not all the commandments in those books, I'm talking about the false and fake hadiths in those books. Otherwise al-Bukhari has very beautiful explanations. There are many good explanations and statements in Muslim, in Al-Tirmidhi, in Ibn Majah and in Al-Sunan al-Sughra. The real hadiths are obvious. But there are hadiths about killing people, hanging people, about violence, those should be removed. Be it Taliban or ISIS, the groups, whom practices terror and violence, are benefiting from those books, it is paramount that this issue should be resolved first. But I condemn vigorously the violence all Islamic groups inflict. However ISIS's violence is not targeted towards Turkey, it is towards PKK. Hence we have no business with ISIS. But ISIS has no activity towards PKK within the borders of Turkey. When they are behind an attack, ISIS announces it openly. They even release the pictures; they say, "we did it." I do not approve this. I think this issue can be resolved with knowledge, science, rational thinking and love.
