PEARL, MISSISSIPPI — Mississippi authorities have arrested two men in connection with a highway shooting described by police as “a case of road rage gone really bad.”

Suspects Brett Davis, 29, and Andrew Walters, 27, were driving on Interstate-20 close to the Airport Road exit in Pearl on Wednesday when the shooting took place.

Rankin County Undersheriff Raymond Duke told Mississippi News Now that the incident was “a case of road rage gone really bad.”

Police said the unidentified victim was shot in the head above the eye. He survived and was able to tell officers what happened, Mississippi News Now reported. After the shooting, his car came to a rest on the highway median. The victim was at a local hospital and in stable condition.

Both suspects were later found and arrested by police. Davis was charged with attempted murder.
