ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO — A man in Albuquerque took drastic measures to get away from his neighbor’s noisy sex.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that Reuben Cook was in his apartment Sunday night when he began hearing his neighbor’s sex sounds. Annoyed by the loud noises, Cook began setting things around his house on fire with a lighter. The 36-year-old claimed he wanted to go to jail to escape the sounds.

When police arrived at the housing complex around 10 p.m., they found minor fire damage. Cook admitted to starting the fires and was charged with arson and subsequently spent the next two nights in jail.

He was released on Tuesday on his own recognizance, according to KRQE.
