A Flagler County Sheriff's Office Facebook post on Monday shows an alligator using a crosswalk.

If you live in certain parts of Florida, you may want to account for alligators as a possible factor in traffic delay.
A Flagler County Sheriff's Office Facebook post on Monday shows an alligator in the middle of an intersection in Palm Coast.
According to the sheriff's office, "the gator was more than 5 feet long. It was sitting by the crosswalk and suddenly scampered across the entire roadway in the crosswalk."
The traffic was stopped and the considerate animal took just 30 seconds to get to the other end of the crosswalk.
The department further notes, "A trapper from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was called but before he could arrive on scene, the gator went to a wooded lot and back to its natural habitat. The trapper call was canceled."
