The Louvre in Paris closed to the public on Friday, June 3, amid worsening flooding caused by days of torrential rain.
Video shot from a Paris skyscraper on June 2 shows Île de Pont and Île de Puteaux, two of the River Seine’s urbanized islands, submerged by the rising waters of the river.According to reports, 24,000 people were left without electricity on June 2 in the Seine-et-Marne, Essone, and Yvelines departments, while areas throughout the region remained on high alert.
