App of the Week: Just Dance Now

Get your groove on with Just Dance, with the help of your phone or any connected device with a screen. This week’s app of the week is… Just Dance Now. Ubisoft has decided to free Just Dance Now of its console restraints, no longer a console game available as an additional charge. Taking advantage of the accelerometer now present in all smartphones, you can dance while the app registers your moves and judges your dance skills. What do you need? For starters, download the app on your phone. Then, it's time to choose a screen that’ll display the choreographed dance you’ve chosen to prove your skills. The only requirement is an internet connection: you’ll have to access the same app on another device like a tablet, a computer or laptop, or a smart TV. You can dance alone or with friends, in choreographed pop group style. Your phone will tell you which person you’re trying to follow. If you do it right, you'll see the progress bar fill up. While dancing, Just Dance Now lets you record a few seconds of video so that you can show off your dance skills to your friends. Just Dance Now has several free songs every day, but if you become a VIP member, if you pay, you’ll have access to a much longer list of songs and be spared the ads. You can have fun with Just Dance Now without downloading the app on your phone, meaning, without registering an account or recording your score. But, half the fun is saving your data, your scores and your stats to compare with Friends or other wannabe dancers around the world. Each song includes the name of someone who’s danced it better. It could be you!
