Stunning footage, filmed this month, of a geyser lake in the Altai Mountains, Russia, coloured turquoise because of thermal springs.

The filmer later wrote online: "This attractive turquoise color is obtained through the thermal springs, which beat in the middle of the lake.

"This force of the geyser eruptions raises beautiful blue sludge to the surface."

"Due to this sand-clay mixture rising from the bottom, several circles of turquoise-blue color are formed on the surface," he continued.

"The lake does not freeze even at temperatures below 0C."
