ADNAN OKTAR: Why would Mustafa Kemal be a materialist? There are few believers who are as sincere in their faiths in God as Ataturk. He was a true disciple of the Qur’an. He carried a copy of the Qur’an over his heart all the time. You can see that copy of the Qur’an in Anitkabir [the Tomb of Ataturk] yourselves. He never took it down from upon his heart. He had the Qur’an recited every night. He would invite many hafiz to his house to read the Qur’an. It was Ataturk who introduced religious vocational high schools, theology faculties, who founded the directorate of religious affairs, who distributed tens of thousands of copies of the Qur’an in Anatolia, who held sermons in mosques, who performed prayers, who preserved the true Qur’an against superstitions.
