It's been fourteen years since the birth of Danakil as a band of college students who played in many of the small bars of Paris and today this band is one of the most decisive driving forces of the French roots scene. The great maturity expressed in their new work "Entre les lignes", probably their most ambitious album, gives testimony of this. Having debuted in 2006 with "Microclimat" they did duets in their second album, "Dialogue of sourds" with great Jamaican artists such as Mighty Diamonds, Jah Mason and General Levy. In 2010 they paid tribute to their French roots with a reggae version of "Non, je ne regrette rien" by Edith Piaf and have played in Bamako, Mali, on the occasion of the eightieth anniversary of the coronation of Haile Selassie I. Their third album "Echos du temps" was transformed in collaboration with the dub artist Manjul for the double album "Echos du dub", which was voted best French reggae album in February 2013.
