Earlier in 2016, Boiler Room restarted its regular activity in Paris with a deliriously fun ballroom party curated by Teki Latex – five of the cities' best DJs and dozens of dancers from the House of Ninja and House of Mizrahi all getting loose to vogue beats.
The story of Paris' ballroom culture, its evolution to the present day, its nuanced differences from the more well-known NYC scene, and its place in the wider LGBTQ community is something we felt compelled to tell. Immense thanks to Stephanie Mizrahi, Kiddy Smile, Betty, Teki, Raphaël Marquis and all the dancers who gave us access to their world and permission to help spread the story.
