Russia's new space station, the Vostochny Cosmodrome, hosted its first ever rocket launch on Thursday after a 24 hour delay of the launch caused a country-wide scandal. A Russian Soyuz 2.1A rocket was successfully launched from the new Cosmodrome, lifting three satellites into orbit, the Aist-2D, the SamSat-218 and the Lomonosov, after they detached from the rocket around eight minutes and 44 seconds into the flight.
