And here it is— the second Equestria Girls movie, Rainbow Rocks! Not many people in the fandom probably wanted this, but what we received was most definitely better than the original. With improvements in just about every aspect over EQG1, this movie definitely left many wanting more. From a nice arc for Sunset Shimmer, to great comedy, to fun villains, to numerous background character shoutouts, this movie delivered in a lot of aspects. The songs and soundtrack were no exception, will Daniel Ingram and William Anderson really stepping up their game for this one! With over 10 songs, this movie was more music-packed than the original, and will leave you humming the tunes for days afterward. In terms of number and length of tracks, the BGM in the movie was a little less than the first, which is to be expected with the amount of more time the songs take up. But what we did get from the BGM was fantastic, introducing a couple new amazing themes which are reprised throughout the movie. NOTE: The songs in this movie are mixed differently than any other songs in this series. Backing vocals are in the stereo channels, but addtional backing vocals, and only a few instruments are in most of the surround channels. This means that a true instrumental for any song in this movie is unfortunately imossible. Sorry!\r

Here we have the opening sequence title track for the movie. Instead of a remixed My Little Pony theme like the first movie had, Ingram here provides us with an original rock piece for the title track. This entire opening sequence was amazing, complete with some awesome animation summarizing the events of the first movie through shadows. I was pretty blown away by the first movies opening titles, but Rainbow Rocks blows that out of the water. Props to Tony Cliff who did the concept & development for this sequence!\r

The song itself is fantastic. A rockin track, this piece starts out with a Queen-like drum sequence, leading into some awesome guitar parts—even the bass track is not boring and adds a ton of flair to the song. And I cannot stress how great the organ part is in this song.\r
\r
Daniel Ingram once again proves he can tackle and master any genre of music—which is probably the best thing about the Equestria Girls movies. It allows him to utilize genres of music that might not fit well with the original TV series. This is the perfect way to start this movie.\r
