Seven people have been detained by police in India following a devastating fire that killed 116 people in a temple located in the village of Paravoor.
The group surrendered to law enforcement late Monday after a two-day search.
Police are questioning the seven people involved in what was initially an evening of fun as party attendees celebrated the Hindu new year from Saturday night into Sunday.
Fireworks are typically used at such festivals in in southern India.
On Tuesday, a court banned the use of nighttime pyrotechnic displays at all places of worship in Kerala state.
Police are still looking for eight other temple board members and associates of firework contractors
