bizarre frog fish caught in the gulf of mexico

sup guy's. my son caught this off the coast of crystal river florida in the gulf of mexico. we've never seen anything like it around here. i don't know if it's native to here or something someone turned loose from a salt water aquarium. any ideas?. cheers ;-)
