Dramatic footage shows the moment a London cyclist was 'brake checked' by a swerving Highway Maintenance truck after it passed him closely for the third time.

The incident, captured in its entirety by a helmet camera, happened on the Shoot Up Hill segment of the capital's Edgware Road on Wednesday morning. It has been reported to police.

The cyclist described the incident online, saying: "On my usual cycle commute into London, I got passed quite closely by this truck. At first I didn't think much of it as it usually happens, but when it happened the second time I got quite annoyed as he passed me as I was passing a stationary bus.

"He subsequently swerved into the bus lane almost to prove a point. I showed my annoyance to the way he was driving and when I caught up to him at the traffic lights I gave him a quick glance. After the lights went green he passed me once again quite close.

"This time I was a little more vocal about his driving prowess, to which he decided to brake check me and then come to an almost complete standstill on a main road to block me, and then start veering from side to side. I guess he thought this was funny.

"I was able to chase him down further down the road to inform him that the whole incident was captured on my helmet cam.

"His reaction to that was pretty much as expected. The middle finger. Maybe that is what his boss will show him when the police get in touch."
