Steps :-
1: Preparing for the Refresh.
-Capture SAP license – OS level
-Capture SAP user master records if required (SCC8
 SAP_USER) and make note of transports
created
-Make note of required configuration like RFC’s,
ports, background jobs, etc. – SM59, SM37....
2: Carrying out the refresh- (09:20-12:50)
Actual system refresh is carried using various
techniques such as :
-Restoration from storage tape.
-Shadow image split scripts from DR system.
3: Post Processing Steps- (12:50-30:00)
- Start database and SAP
-Perform preliminary checks (SICK, SM51, SM21,
DB02, ST06, SM13 etc.)
-Cancel unwanted background jobs and disable /
reconfigure SMTP and FAX in SM37, SCOT
-Change client details in SCC4
- Maintain RFC connections in SM59
- Update profiles in RZ10
- Reconfigure operation modes in RZ04
- Install SAP License – OS level
- Recreate SAP* user and restart SAP system
- Configure TMS – SE06 and STMS
- Ensure or start tp process program RDDIMPDP job
in SM37
- Import user master records back if required –
- Import transports in STMS and do post processing
in SCC7
- Run logical system remapping job – BDLS job to be
execu
- Complete other required configuration – partner
profiles, BW and other system reconnections, etc.
