Michigan: The World Class Ice Climbing Destination You've Never...

On today's Climbing Daily, we talk filmmaker Aaron Peterson about his coverage of ice climbing in Michigan, particularly his documentation of the Michigan Ice Fest. Aaron directed, edited, and shot The Michigan Ice Film, a documentary about ice climbing on the shores of Lake Superior. His film paints a rich tapestry of the ice climbing potential in the American Midwest, particularly the very rare opportunity to climb ice over big, open water. Thought to be the oldest ice festival in the US, the Michigan Ice Fest has been running since the late 80's, and attracts some big names. In his film, Aaron catches up with mountaineer Conrad Anker, in search of good ice.
