Amtrak's Sunset Limited, Post Oak Crossing 12/24/07

Train #1 (Westbound)
Units: P42s 135 & 87
Consist: Original 6 (Two Sleepers, Diner, Lounge, Two Coaches) before the pickup in San Antonio.
Time: 10:15 pm (3 min early to target crossing)
Well, again there's added commentary, only I'm the one at fault this time. I had originally devised a plan to leave a message on my girlfriend's voice-mail as a sort of Christmas surprise only to actually get her as I was driving down to the crossing. So...I admit to foolishness on my part for even being on the cell phone. However, I also enjoyed being able to let her join in on the fun. That said, the commentary is just to get a few things clarified with her so that she knew what was going on.
As for why I'm at the stop light, I had no idea that Amtrak was going to try to speed up as if they were 30 min or so late like usual, and the minute I pulled onto the track coming the other way, what should appear around the curve but the headlights of the Genesis locomotive.
