A 5.8-earthquake hit Christchurch on Sunday, February 14, causing cliff collapse in the suburb of Sumner and a sinkhole on a busy street. A 10 feet long, one feet deep (three metres long, one metre deep) sinkhole opened up on Bower Avenue, but no major structural damage was reported. This video shows the aftermath in the Sumner beach after sections of cliff fell into the sea. Credit: Louis Bentley
