BOSTON — A beloved Massachusetts elementary school art teacher was killed in a freak accident that saw a dislodged manhole cover crash through her vehicle's windshield Friday morning, according to a CBS Boston report.

A manhole cover at the end of O'Neill Tunnel in downtown Boston somehow dislodged at around 8 a.m. during rush hour. The 200-pound metal disc was sent airborne and crashed through the driver's side windshield of Clavette's SUV.

The 35-year-old's vehicle eventually came to a stop after crashing into a highway wall.

An investigation into why and how the manhole cover dislodged is ongoing.

Clavette worked as an art teacher at Glover Elementary School in Milton and was also an avid triathlete, according to CBS Boston.
