The planet's largest mass migration underway in China

Thousands of rail passengers in China have been left stranded after adverse weather delayed trains.
In what’s known as the world’s largest annual mass migration, millions of people are heading back to their towns and villages for the start of the Chinese New Year holiday.
One stranded passenger said the train schedule has changed three times.
“At first it changed to 9 p.m. then 10, now it says it’s delayed and the time of departure is undecided,” he said.
More than 55,000 passengers were left stranded at a station in the southern city of Guangzhou after a rare snowfall delayed trains.
Chinese travellers are expected to make 2.9 billion trips during the 40 period which started two weeks ago (January 21).
Most of those trips will fall around the Lunar New Year on February 8.
