A series of painful family matters push Augusta, a young Italian woman, to question the certainties on which she built her life. Her journey begins on a small boat in the heart of nature and the Amazon, when she decides to accompany Sister Franca, a friend of her mother's, in a mission. She will discover in this remote land the continued Western attempts to conquer nature. Augusta decides to continue on her way, leaving the Italian community behind to go move in a favela in Manaus. Here, she encounters the simple people of the place, and returns to perceive the atavistic instinct of life. She takes ""her"" journey a step further, isolating herself in the forest, accepting the pain and rediscovering love. In a dimension where nature carries prophetic meaning, Augusta enters new era and established a new set of priorities; she faces the greatest adventure of all: the quest for the self, embodying the universal question of the meaning of human existence.
