DALLAS, TEXAS — Two Dallas men have been arrested on child sex trafficking charges for forcing a teenaged girl to have sex with multiple men on a daily basis for two weeks, said Dallas Police Deputy Chief Rob Sherwin in a press conference.
Police reported that 19-year-olds Mike Osorio and Rafael Rodas contacted at least two individuals on Facebook — including the 15-year-old girl — to lure them to a meeting location.
The men then forced the teen into acts of prostitution with at least six men per day from December 5 to December 19 of last year, said Sherwin.
When the girl and her companion managed to escape captivity, she was taken into custody on runaway charge by Dallas police. An investigation was launched when she told the police of the sexual assaults, said Sherwin.
Officials are investigating whether the other unnamed person who was with the teen was also a victim.
Lindsey Speed, an advocate for trafficking victims with the group Traffick911 told CBS DFW News that tactics used to lure the girls could include a false sense of love, compliments and affection.
Rafael Rodas was arrested on January 28, while Osorio was arrested the next day. Bail has been set at $300,000 and $603,000 respectively, said Sherwin.
Authorities are concerned there may be additional victims. Anyone who knows or who has been in contact with the suspects are being asked to contact the police.
