Mastizaade MOVIE REVIEW | Sunny Leone, Tusshar Kapoor, Vir Das

Well when it comes to sex comedies, India is still an amateur and directors like Milap Zaveri may not well be aware of it. Anyway the filmi janta is in for a lot of ups and downs in Mastizaade and where they have Sunny Leone as the USP as she may really have done a good job of it as Laila Lele and Lily Lele. But it ends there in spite of Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das along with Shaad Randhawa. The concept of the story is lost right in the beginning and then one has to only bear through the entire torture which is wrapped in the guise of a sex comedy.

Riteish Deshmukh comes as the love guru in his very snazzily named Aurgasm Ashram where we really feel the name could certainly have been more intelligent. Anyway this love guru plays a very special role in the boy’s life and then you get dollops of double meaning dialogues and tonnes of sex loaded scenes. This certainly does not make a comedy and we have miles to go before we learn to laugh at such stuff with intelligence.

Mastizaade lacks just that – it lacks intelligence and brings around talented actors like Vir Das as a mere comic strip. This is sad and we expected more out of a Pritish and Rangita Nandy production. Anyway we give a thumbs up to Milap for even trying to do something different but we can only say that these Mastizaade trio could certainly give a better fare in its sequel if there is one has even dared to plan it.
