Clap Hands, Here comes Charlie - Climax Jazz Band 1996

In the final tune of this recorded set at the 1996 St Louis Jazz Festival Climax Jazz Band plays “Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie”.
We had the additional strength of Paul Reid on piano, and some strength he is! Today in 2007 Paul is the piano anchor of the popular festival band Cornet Chop Suey and also distinguishes himself at many of today’s jazz festivals in jazz piano battles, particularily with that other hot jazz pianist Jeff Barnhart.
We also had a wonderful time to have one of the best reedplayers from the California area to be a member of our band for the full weekend. Pieter Meijers came originally from the Netherlands. Like our Jack and myself we have a lot of good memories from our early days there, particularily these from and also meeting the Dutch Swing College Band.
I hope you enjoyed this full set that was taped by George Miller and his Heritage Video team. I initiated a new playlist where all the tunes from this set are mentioned together. “Climax in St Louis”
