The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired coach David Blatt, a person familiar with the move told USA TODAY Sports.
The person spoke on condition on anonymity because the move hasn't yet been made public.
Tyronn Lue takes over as head coach.
Blatt was in his second season as the coach of the Cavaliers, and his team leads the Eastern Conference with a 30-11 record.
Last year the Cavs lost in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
Another person familiar withe move told USA TODAY Sports that LeBron James had no role in Blatt's dismissal and was not asked for input.
