Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has once again slammed notice to the state government for flouting rules by school vans and autos. The court has asked for the reply before 28th January. As per the rule, a school van can accommodate a maximum of 14 children and for auto it’s 7. But the drivers are easily flouting the rule as there is no strict implication of the rule by the state. Parents send their children in such overloaded vehicles because they can’t afford hefty tariffs. Most of the vehicles run on CNG and the chances of catching fire have increased as many are illegally fitted CNG kits.
