The Lakers moved the ball crisply and shot the ball with deadly accuracy.
They defended by rotating swiftly and unyielding hustle.
Soon enough, the streamers fell down from the Staples Center rafters as the fans cheered endlessly.
It seemed like such a foreign concept to see.
But it happened.
The Lakers secured a 97-77 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, providing a new identity in the new year that is suddenly spawning positive vibes in a dour season.
The Lakers (8-27) secured their first three-game winning streak since Feb. 22-27, 2014 as Lou Williams (30 points), Larry Nance Jr. (15), Roy Hibbert (13) and Jordan Clarkson (12) all cracked double figures.
They also held Phoenix to 36-percent shooting, 16 assists, and outrebounded the Suns, 54-45.
