Image Reveals Aftermath Of Galactic Collision 360 Million Years Ago

The European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope at the Paranal Observatory recently returned an image showing the aftermath of a galactic collision.
In the center of an image sits a blurry and yellow egg-shaped galaxy almost 200 million light-years beyond.
That galaxy, NGC 5291, comprises part of the Centaurus constellation.
We see in the picture debris from a massive crash in space that occurred ages upon ages back in the past.
