Deadly Las Vegas crash treated as "intentional," but not terrorism

“The car was like a bowling ball and the human bodies were like pins” was the description one eyewitness gave after a motorist ploughed into a crowded Las Vegas pavement.

One person was killed and dozens injured in the crash, which local police now say is being treated as “intentional,” but not an act of terrorism.

“Basically earlier this evening we had an individual that drove up onto the sidewalk… as that individual drove, she continued to drive northbound on the sidewalk, striking several pedestrians,” said Las Vegas Police Captain, Peter Boffelli.

A female in her twenties fled the scene, but was later taken into custody. She is being tested for drugs and alcohol.

A three-year-old child who was also in the car is said to have escaped unharmed.

The incident took place on the main strip near the hotel where the Miss Universe pageant was being held.
