Priti by Design - Nolcha - Spring Summer - Fashion Week SS'13

One of the more interesting shows I saw last month in New York (Nolcha) was “Priti By Design.” New Yorker Priti Bali is proof that if you do what your heart truly desires – dreams come true. It was just two years ago she made a career change from social sciences researcher to fashion designer. During a trip to the Indian city of Bangalore, she was helped by local designers to develop her unique style. She returned to New York and took continuing education classes at FIT to enhance some basic skills, followed by an apprenticeship with a costume designer and now…a spanking new clothing line. Brand philosophy: Multifunctional, sustainable design and construction, inspire style creativity, affordable fashion, cooperative entrepreneurship, dignity of labor and locally manufactured. www.pritibydesign.com
