Long-standing rivals Sebastian Kawa from Poland and Austrian Werner Amann battled for gold over the desert sand dunes in the final of the Gliding Match Racing at the FAI World Air Games. Both beat off competition from four other pilots to end up in the final together. After a close race, Kawa ended up on the first place and took the gold medal.

The 2015 edition of the FAI World Air Games has been awarded to the United Arab Emirates for the first time and will be held in Dubai from 1 to 12 December 2015, presenting an array of 11 sports and 24 disciplines.
