Argentina: Macri To Be Sworn In Amid Widespread Protests

Thousands will march to the Plaza de Mayo on Wednesday evening to say farewell to President Cristina Fernandez and oppose incoming President Mauricio Macri. Although the mainstream media accuse Fernandez of being a bad loser because of her decision not to appear at the ceremony to swear in Macri at noon on Thursday, this comes after a hostile decision by Macri to ask a court to declare her term of office over the night before, leaving the country with a substitute president for 12 hours. The move diverts attention from a surge in prices and a planned currency devaluation that will cripple the buying power of millions of families. Leo Poblete reports from Buenos Aires for teleSUR.
